MOU Signing Ceremony With Kajaani University Finland

Virtual university of Pakistan and Kajaani University of Applied Sciences, Finland have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to train one million students on disruptive technologies. Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiative, Mr. Asad Umar was the chief guest of the ceremony. MoU was signed by Mr. Naeem Tariq, Rector Virtual University of Pakistan and Mr. Matti Saren, CEO, Kajaani University.
Former Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also participated in the ceremony. Secretary Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom, Mr. Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui, Director International Education Cooperation, Kajaani University, Anas Al Natsheh, and other high officials joined the ceremony.
Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiative, Mr. Asad Umar said that Finland has gained great repute in the last one decade in the world. He said, “The entire education system has now been touted in the last 10 years that the entire world acknowledges Finland for developing the kind of citizens and workers which are required to solve the problems of 21st century. And this MoU will provide lots of opportunities for Pakistani students to learn quality education with the support of Kajani University, Finland”.
Mr. Matti Saren, CEO, Kajaani University in his address said, “the Economist Intelligence report had declared Finland as the best countries in the world for future skills education while the Program for International Student Assessment also ranked Finland as the best higher education and training systems in the world. Finland has become one of the best place for higher education in the world. We hope to have collaboration in research, innovation and commercialization by offering European standard education to Pakistani students with the support of Virtual University. We believe that working together we can create the future. I am hoping that this MoU will take a long term collaboration between the government of Finland and Pakistan and together we will build foundation for research, innovation and commercialization by offering European academic programs.

Another representative from Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom said that Virtual University of Pakistan has successfully materialized the idea of World Education at Doorsteps. VU is among very few institutions what it takes to be successful. I also acknowledge Allied ICT Finland and Kajani University of Applied Sciences, Finland for taking the initiative in Pakistan for pooling in resources for the overall benefit of Pakistani students.

Rector, Virtual University thanked the Finland government for their support. He said, Virtual University is providing quality education across Pakistan. This MoU will benefit the student of Pakistan to get enrolled in European Academic programs with the support of Kajani University, Finland. It would enable Pakistani students to capitalize on the latest trends evolving in the field of Information Technology. With their globally recognized certifications, the students would strengthen Pakistan’s IT industry by nurturing a wide range of technology startups. Pakistan will gain competitive advantage in the global freelance work-space, to become an attractive destination for international companies searching for qualified technology experts.
Director International Education Cooperation, Kajaani University, Anas Al Natsheh said resourceful international collaborations and digital technologies are enabling access to quality education across the globe, nurture innovations, new ideas and products.
